Our Story
From a one-person practice to three professional teams.
Scott Chen founded North Star in Queensland in 2015 as a one-person practice. Today, the company brings together engineers, quantity surveyors and project management professionals across three professional practice teams based in Sydney, Melbourne and Hobart.
From these established bases in New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania, our teams serve clients across Australia with high-quality engineering, construction and project governance services.
The practice began with civil and structural design, drafting and project programme development. As client needs became more complex, North Star expanded into end-to-end project governance, covering technical, commercial, statutory and delivery matters.
North Star and its client base continue to grow steadily. We do not pursue growth for its own sake; we focus on efficiency, quality and taking responsibility for the work we accept.
